This is a delicious column distilled rum. The 54% is hidden in the chocolate notes, which brings warmth to this 12-year-old rum from Panama.
The rum spends time in ex Bourbon casks that have previously had cocoa nibs in them – the chocolate flavours enhance the rum and take it to almost liqueur levels of richness.
Dark chocolate heaven. The nose and entry gives off fresh cacao notes which transition into a creamy finish with touches of citrus.
It benefits hugely from the bottling strength of 54% as it keeps the intense chocolate character balanced.
