I still remember tasting my first macaron in the chic French capital. It was years ago now when I had waited in the long queue of confused tourists at Ladurée on the Champs Elysées. I bit into the culinary creation and passed through the three culinary sensations.
First I broke into the solid shell, passed into the chewy almond meringue texture and finally tasted the sweet vanilla filling.
From that moment on I have been in love with French macarons. It is now my mission to bring this experience and beautiful delicacy to the UK and beyond.
My dreams came true when I lived in Paris, immersed myself in the culture, ate too many patisseries and finally went to the Alain Ducasse cookery school to learn how to make macarons.
Now I think it’s time to be cheeky and provide you with macarons along with a serving of silly anecdotes.
From our kitchen in Edinburgh there is a team of wonderful Mesdemoiselles and Messieurs who work with a purpose of bringing a little bit of Paris to you. Every single macaron is made by hand with the freshest ingredients and passion.
Mademoiselle Macaron is not one person, or one team, she is a little bit of all of you, that little bit that craves a moment of sweetness and indulgence. The macarons we make are an offering to every Monsieur and Mademoiselle in need of a moment of luxury. If we can create that moment, then we have done our job.
Bisous,
Rachel (Chief Mademoiselle)
